2016 has been a big year for the city of Omaha – we’ve gotten so many fun new things that improve our city! Today we’re listing some of our favorite things Omaha got in 2016!

Container Store
Hands down, the most anticipated addition to Omaha was the brand new Container Store at Westroads Mall. Omaha now has a great store for things to help you organize and clean your home or just fun gadgets that you’ll love!
Fresh Thyme
A quickly growing grocery store chain was also added to Omaha’s retail lineup. The new location of Fresh Thyme is currently located at 149th & Maple with more stores slotted to open in the Omaha metro soon.
Stroud’s
A Kansas City favorite, Stroud’s has opened its doors for the first time in Omaha. They specialize in fried chicken and other delicious southern foods that will make you come back for more!
EVEN Hotel
Downtown Omaha got a new hotel added in 2016. EVEN Hotel is where travel & balance meet for a healthy relationship. These hotels focus on being environmentally-friendly, active and healthy.
Baela Rose
Dubbed one of the “best new restaurants in Omaha” by Omaha World-Herald, Baela Rose is quickly becoming a favorite place to dine in Dundee. They focus on American cuisine and use fresh, local ingredients – all while keeping the price reasonable!
Jambo Cat
A funky new craft cocktail lounge has opened up in the heart of Dundee, just under Mark’s Bistro. Jambo Cat will serve cocktails and snacks and feature live jazz music as well.
Paragon
Willy Theisen has another hot new restaurant in the Dundee area with the opening of his newest restaurant, Paragon. Serving American comfort food with great cocktails is what this hip, modern restaurant is all about.
The Omaha Bakery
Omaha’s newest bakery, The Omaha Bakery, is located on 72nd St. just south of Dodge. Stop by for a wide selection of breads, cakes, brownies and bars. You know this bakery will be around a while, the owner ran a successful bakery back New York City!
Ugly Duck
If you’re looking for the best Japanese street food in the metro, then head over to Midtown Crossing and visit Ugly Duck! This restaurant opened after a wild success with a popup restaurant.
Au Courant Regional Kitchen
Located in the old España restaurant on Maple, Au Courant is the newest restaurant to open in Benson. They offer approachable European dishes while focusing on regional ingredients.
Ollie & Hobbes
Papillion is also getting in on the new restaurant game – Ollie & Hobbes opened very recently on Gold Coast Road. This craft kitchen starts everything from scratch and uses high-quality ingredients and classic techniques, all in a casual and fun atmosphere.
Herbe Sainte
A New-Orleans-inspired cocktail bar located in Aksarben Village, Herbe Sainte is a hit in Omaha. Stop by for a delicious cocktail and stay for the amazing Creole-inspired food.
