Whether you are Irish or not, St. Patrick’s Day is a holiday that everyone can have fun with and celebrate. If you’re planning to truly celebrate this holiday in Omaha, you need to know where to go! Here are our favorite Irish bars in the metro that will be super fun this St. Patrick’s Day.
Downtown
The Dubliner Pub
One of the oldest Irish pubs in Omaha, The Dubliner’s website boasts, “If you can’t get to Dublin to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, there’s a little piece of Ireland nestled underground at 1205 Harney Street in the Old Market.” On Saint Patrick’s Day, they will be having amazing live Irish music and great Irish drinks on tap. Sounds like a good place to us!
O’Connor’s Irish Pub
Before you hit up the Dubliner, stop by O’Connor’s Irish Pub for some delicious Irish breakfast. Yes…breakfast. They’ll be open early on March 17th and March 11th for the Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in the Old Market. If you find yourself there around lunch time, they have some of the best sandwiches in Omaha.
Barry O’s Tavern
Located on 10th Street in the Old Market, Barry O’s recently celebrated their 30-year anniversary. If you’re celebrating in the Old Market this year, you have to check out Barry O’s.
Midtown
Brazen Head
It hard to find a more traditional Irish pub in Omaha other than Brazen Head. Based on an old and loved pub in Dublin which was built in the year 1198 – the bar was even designed in Dublin, built in Wexford, Ireland and then shipped over to Omaha! They often have live music and always have delicious food. For Saint Paddy’s Day, they put up tents and close off the parking lot so you know you’ll have a great time at Brazen Head.
Marylebone Tavern
We know you’ve heard of Marylebone – they’re the ones that paint a giant shamrock on Leavenworth Street. Their Saint Patrick’s Day bash is one you don’t want to miss. They have cheap, delicious drinks, face painting and a live band. Stop by for a delicious Rueben or corned beef and cabbage.
Crescent Moon
While not a typical Irish pub, Crescent Moon is home to the original Rueben sandwich. Stop by for lunch or dinner … you won’t be disappointed. Plus, they have tons of delicious beers on tap that will keep you busy trying them all.
Donohue’s Pub
Donohue’s Pub is located a little south of midtown, but it’s so good we had to include it. Drive south to L Street and you’ll be pleasantly surprised at this Irish Pub. They’re they only ones in Omaha with a taco special!
Maloney’s
Calling all early birds! Maloney’s will be open at 6:00AM with green beer and green pancakes. Stick around for bagpipes, a live band and plenty of opportunities for free stuff. And the best part of all? No cover!
Barrett’s Barleycorn Pub & Castle Barrett
It doesn’t get much more Irish than spending the day in an Irish Castle in the heart of Omaha! Barrett’s Barleycorn Pub and Castle Barrett are right next to each other and will be serving both breakfast and lunch. Hang out for some cold beer, live bagpipes and a wild time!
West Omaha
Clancy’s Pub
Any veteran of Saint Patrick’s Day in Omaha knows all about Clancy’s Pub. They also open at 6:00AM with green beer, Irish coffee and green bagels & donuts. They’ll be having a DJ, live bagpipes and heated tents. They boast the biggest party in town and this year will be their 40th St. Patrick’s Day bash! Head over to 168th & Center and check out the fun!
Two Fine Irishmen
This St. Patrick’s Day Bash at Two Fine Irishmen is celebrating their 10th St. Patrick’s Day and will be starting at 6:00AM and going well in to the night. They’ll have tons of live music like Omaha Pipes & Drums and Bucka Ruse. Stop by for green beer and a great party!
Sean O’Casey’s Pub
Located right by Oak View Mall, Sean O’Casey’s is tucked away in a little strip mall, but you won’t be able to miss it this St. Patrick’s Day. Stop by for a great time in a traditional Irish pub.
